Doodle #65

The much anticipated 1 week break has arrived.

Yet I need to stress over what's coming after the break.

Oral presentation for PAC1311.

Well, back to work.

Kinoc, out.

Doodle #64 : Internet-less

I’m writing to you now in the midst of an Internet blackout (or just mine). With such impeccable timing in fact, and here I thought I was about to get some spamming started. Nevertheless, it’s only 7:16pm, there’s still 4 hours before the night ends (Once again, just for me). I guess I could use this chance to catch up on some much needed revision. I just realized that I’ve yet to attempt any of my Organic Chemistry tutorial questions that are due tomorrow. Besides the assessed one of course. Past experience has honed me in order to only tackle the questions that matter in advance. Those that matter less and/or don’t matter shall be tossed aside until further notice.

I sounded very.. I can’t seem to remember that word.

Before the commencement of tonight’s work session, I shall write a quick and brief recap of my day.

It started out just like any other day, the calming breeze of dawn, the soothing atmosphere of the morning, the wind in your hair as you race down the highway (okay not so much on this part). You know, the usual stuff.

Superfluous issues aside, I had 4 straight hours of classes today. Then again, I’m used to 4 straight hours of lectures. It was the same back at AusMat, with some slight breaks in between to accommodate whatever fatigue we had. A point to note, we had our first ‘ang moh’ lecturer today, Prof. DR. He lectured us on Disease States in Patients and Populations. Yes I had to mention that. I mean, c’mon. I was rather taken aback when he came in. Wasn’t really expecting an Australian lecturer. He was reallyyyyyyyyyy interesting.

“Australians get madder with time” and “The population are catching up on Diabetes”. I know, if I just quote his lines here it won’t have the same effect as when he said it. Ah well.

It was the usual classes again. Finally, Electrochemistry, yet another subject of interest. I feel so at home. (:

First time I bought Snowflakes as a takeout. Yeah, I know right?

What to do? Lil Princess Wan craves for her dessert.

So I bought her and Itianne dessert and dropped by my former college. Felt different (I’ve mentioned this on several other occasions) to step foot in there knowing that I no longer belong there. Found her at the CLC panicking over her assignment. Seriously, it’s only been a few months since I left and she’s all over the place. Hahaha.

Helped her out with stuff.

Munching on my snowflakes now. Well, it’s Itianne’s one but she ditched us to distribute survey forms at pyramid. Hence, I had gladly volunteered to chow down on her portion for her. :D

Even caught a glance of the chocolate man I miss so much.

You know, just compare these 2 shots.

Then..

Now.

Standing at the 6th floor of Monash, I look back towards Sunway University College. Only a year ago, I stood at the balcony outside Sunway's library, gazing at the Monash Sunway Campus hoping to get in, never knowing that some day I would.

A wave of nostalgia overcomes me. Sometimes, time passes by way too fast.

Kinoc, out.

Doodle #63

So I just spent the previous 90 minutes redoing my citations, for this.

In order to do so, I had to stare at THIS.

I think the somewhat involuntary nap this evening helped me stay awake through the whole night. I feel rather content that I've managed to finish redoing my entire citation page for this assignment.

Then again, I'm feeling rather sick too. Running through the rain to get to my car and outta my car to my house (That means I almost got soaked twice) may have taken its toll. Despite the fact that I shielded myself with my bag, think I still got a cold. Or just down with some headache.

Meh.

Kinoc, signing out.

Doodle #62 : Shoutout

Thanks for the publicity.

Here's a shoutout to my number 1 stalker, Dave NSM. And to my fellow coursemates who might be reading this. HAHAHA

Doodle #61

A portrayal of words,
A plea for a listener,
A free flow of emotions,
That goes beyond superficiality.

To read between the lines,
To listen in on the anecdote,
Told from his perspective.

A host of doubtful sentiments,
Clouds his trivial thoughts,
Recollections of angst lie in wait,
To pounce of the remnants of his soul.

The epitome of skepticism,
He has but hesitancy for whatever lies ahead,
Searching for a helping hand,
To forget the pain,
To shake off the burden,
To overcome his anguish.

And lead him into the light.

Doodle #60

Lost in stereo,

I feel it beginning, the enigmatic aura.

Doodle #59

There's not much time left, yet so much more things to do.

I've to sort out whatever there is to be planned for the day, from food to possible road trips.

Along with that, I can't wait to see a much anticipated familiar face.

Perhaps it's time to sling out my guitar again. At least to add a little personalized charm to it. I've yet to decide which snippets to play anyway. I've a knack to slack off and not practice. With such a time constrict, I hope I'll be able to pull it off.

That's all I'll be saying. (:

On a side note, I still can't seem to believe that 7 weeks have already passed. I still remember first setting foot into university knowing nobody but Adeline.

Kinoc, out.

Doodle #58 : Tittle Tattle

I've reinstalled the chatbox application for my blog. It's under the Tittle Tattle section in the right column of my current layout. After a few months hiatus, it'd be a more convenient way to drop messages and whatnot. Compared to the comment section where I think you have be logged in to post a comment.

I hope it isn't plagued with spam anymore. See how it goes. If the spam appears again, I'd remove it. Again.

Kinoc, out.

Doodle #57 : Modelling

No, not the literal modelling. You'd like a post on that wouldn't you?

Sorry, no can doosville baby doll.

Today, I had my first 1121 practical lab session. You guessed it, it's a session on molecular modelling. For those of you who aren't acquainted with the ways of science, it's a process whereby you, the.. lab person / researcher / student / etc opens a box containing a range of balls and sticks.

Yes, balls and sticks.

WARNING : SCIENCE CONTENT

The box where we were to use to construct our ball and stick models.

Well, what did you think I was talking about?

We had roughly 3 hours to construct over 10 different molecules.

Alkanes, cycloalkanes, alkenes, cycloalkenes, aromatic hydrocarbons as well as substituted aromatic hydrocarbons. Sounds easy enough, no?

In theory, it's all child's play. But to actually construct them..

Fine, it was simple. But it HURT.

No thanks to this dude.

Hard at work writing our lab reports. Of course, it was with reference to all the models built by ME. All he did was sit there and go "Kin Hoe, Benzene. Please and thank you"

I just glared at him.

Nevertheless, it's fun to play around with the molecular building kit. It's reminiscent to my good old childhood days. Kinda reminds me of Lego blocks, only more complex.

Our oddly shaped CH3CH(OH)COOH molecule, otherwise known as lactic acid. The stuff your muscles produce as a by-product of anaerobic respiration. Adeline referred to this as a poodle with a deformed leg. You have to admit, it does somewhat look like what she said. Somewhat.

Aspirin. We made a mistake here. It's supposed to be orto, but somehow we constructed it as meta. Nobody noticed it till the end. D:

I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THIS IS CALLED.

I really appreciate all the self-study time I took last year to read up on chirality. (: And my whore brother who influenced me to read up more. I feel more prepared for my course. *puts on glasses*

Another day, another dollar. Uncanny, yet oblivious. To ascertain one's true nature takes time. Time seems aplenty, until you realize there's none left.
