Doodle #106 : Frozen Fingers, High Pitched Screaming

My take on this might differ from what actually happened, as I'm writing from a pretty dazed state of mind.

This would be the second time I headed up to Genting Highlands within two weeks. It is also the second time I've been up there. Goes to show.

Unlike the previous trip, the scheduled meet time was 12.30PM in the afternoon, as opposed to early morning, and the theme park visit was on the second day. Drove to Monash first to borrow their parking space for a day. Ivan picked me, Jean, Chern and Jason up from there and we headed off to 1U to meet Rachel, Weng and Sujata.

Where does one leave his car at 1U for a whole day you ask? Well, at a certain outdoor parking lot close by, only RM1 per ENTRY. Freakin' cool! Note: Do not and I repeat do NOT park INSIDE, it's calculated per HOUR and there's no cap on it. Anecdote? Ivan (or his friend) parked there one time, and they came back 3 days later. Put the ticket into the machine. And it read..

RM160. THREE DIGITS.

Dawdled a bit around 1U before our departure time. Met up with everyone again ON THE DOT at 1.30PM, heard the buses never wait for people. At all. My mind wanders back to a story I heard not too long back. Worse scenario, yet miraculous execution of a plan to arrive on time.

Coming back to this. We arrived at the cable car station roughly around 2.30PM. This time I'm taking the cable car up. There were 8 of us. Maximum capacity per unit: 8 people. As I like to put it, "Ngam ngam hou" (just nice). Also unlike the first time, we weren't split 2 people per room. Okay, it was like that for the girls. The guys? All 6 of us crammed into one room. 2 single beds for 6 of us. Sleeping arrangements that night were pretty epic.

Pre cable car stress smile.

And so we go.

We were almost at the peak, just roughly 5m away from the netting that extended out of the station when we just stopped. Some epic jerk. The car was SWAYING. I didn't even want to look down, had no idea how high up we were. They had to make some time to help the person in the front car disembark. But dangling several hundred feet in the air with the netting just 5m away from you, not the best of feelings.

Checked in, dropped our luggage and walked about browsing the place.

About 4PM we had to find something to fill our stomachs. Stumbled across a local food court within First World. Prices there weren't that bad at all, the portions were pretty big too.

Went for a short film in the Motion Master 4D. It's like 3D and you were seated in this chair that moved. Swaying side to side.

3D glasses yo'

Then, we began hiking. Yes, we were walking towards.. I could not remember where but it was this ridiculous incline just alongside the escalator from First World Plaza into the Cable Car Station. Only that we were outside.

Ended up outside of these two hotels.

Chui fung, keng sam si.

The 8 of us camped out at this small stand selling durians and drinks for a bit, just enjoying the cool misty breeze. Quite awhile too. Didn't feel like getting my arse of the chair after I planted it down. Lazy much.

Took a stroll into Maxim. The place was.. Magnificent. Rich people hotel. Bahhh. Rm3750 per night for signature suite. Where does one find such money to splurge?!

Found this place inside Maxims, sorta like a museum about Lim Goh Tong, founder of Genting. Pretty cool place. Sorry but I really forgot what the place was called. Pardon my shallow knowledge on people and places. :/

Miniaturized Genting!

They also had a mini cable car display.

After we decided we had walked enough, we went back to our rooms. Mostly.

Managed to get myself a decent cup of coffee. :)

The girls went exploring and the guys (those 21 or over) visited the casino. That leaves just Jason, Weng and I to go back to our room and wait. We picked off where we left off in our previous Monopoly Deal round.

Which reminds me. Back up a bit. When we first checked in, we lingered around our room playing cards and Monopoly Deal. Chor Tai Di, standard card games. It was then I saw a different side of Sam Sifu (Chern). The only thing I can say about it is, I quote "I don't even know whether should I be laughing or just scared."

Picking up where I left off.. I played Jean and Rachel's set of cards too. So in a way I had 3 rounds at my disposal. Technically it gave me an unfair advantage (why would I attack myself) yet SOMEHOW, Weng won. LOL. Epic stuff yo'

When the girls finally returned, we played more Monopoly Deal. Aside from that, we comforted Jean, who was incomplete *cue theme song*. One of the suggestions was just wrong, VERY WRONG, when it was first said.

It was already 7PM by then. Time FLEWWWWW, straight out the window. The casino-goers had returned by then. So we left in search of food. Nomnomnom. Returned to the food court.

Walked even more.

We returned to our rooms for more card games, and the 21s went casino, AGAIN.

So now I had to play correspondent. When the guys all returned (and were all fully clothed), time to let the girls know. They came over.

CUPCAKES!

Birthday surprise ftw. Haha. Nomnom.

I called it a day, while the others left for the durian stand there again, to enjoy the night scene.

Had trouble sleeping. When everyone returned we kept adjusting our sleeping arrangements. Ended up with 3 of us sleeping on the floor, one on each side of the bed.

I found myself awoke at 6am, though I only truly fell asleep around 2am. The floor's nice but I was way too cold to sleep. Feet were freezing. Took a bath and just wandered the hallways then. Came back to the room around 7. Got ready for breakfast, buffet. We only had 2 of the receipts so only 4 of us went. Which was Chern, Rachel, Weng, and I.

Dropped off our luggage for safekeeping at the hotel lobby and checked out. Now? Time for Genting Theme Park!

The fog was unusually thick that morning. It blanketed even the lower level of the theme park. Nevertheless, we went to the Spinner. Only to see that it was closed for maintanence. WHY YOU CLOSE LA I WANT SIT ON YOU LOL. Even the Flying Coaster was closed. :/ Darn it! Should have went on that last week.

So we waited in line for the smaller coaster. Forgot the name of it. Fun fact: It was Weng's first time on a coaster. We cheered him on! Whee. Could hear the screaming from the guys' cart ahead of ours.

It began to drizzle a bit, but nothing that would stop any rides.

The fog is still thick as ever. Visibility dropped to 10m at most.

Camwhore moment. Hahaha.

Managed to convince the guys to sit on the Pirate Haunted House thingamajig. HAHAHA. While waiting for them, spent time doing the exact same thing I did waiting for my highschool mates the week before.

SEAHORSE WHY YOU NO LET ME WIN YOU?! Garhhh. Dammit la. :/ I want you larhh. Haiz. Don't ask why. Ngeh heh he. *innocent smile*

Corkscrew next. I think I sat on it too much. Only the first drop really mattered. Everything else was super meh already. Didn't feel anything at all. LOL.

Sorry, no can do. Ain't getting on the kids bumper cars. LOL. There's a max height for this ride.

Haxxorx.

Sling shot! :O Sat it out again. Haha.

Sat on the "Flying Dragon" next, all 'cept for Jason and Chern, who opted for the Go Karts. Only the turns were any fun. Other than that it was a whole lotta mehhh. I don't get why do people scream so much on this ride. Nonsense la, when they scream. Best part of the ride? It took us through First World Plaza, directly above KFC. We were blasted with the essense of fried chicken. Instantly made all of us hungry after the ride.

That means it's time for lunch. Sure enough, everybody wanted KFC now, thanks to the smell. So we all regrouped and went for nomnoms.

More pictures.

Sat on the "Antique Car" next. Noisy, shaky. But good picture taking opportunities la.

Read the sign yo'

Whee.

Had to get back early, so we called it quits then. Picked up our luggage then went back.

Cable car! AGAIN.

The mist was just ridiculous. Felt like we were going into the great unknown. Zhi Shan was saying how a dinosaur would just pop out from the mist and nom on us. Hahah.

Reached the bus station at 4:30. Luckily there's a bus at 5, with just 8 seats left. We sapu the remaining seats.

The rest of the journey was spent napping, or listening to music.

Super tired now.

Kinoc, out.

Doodle #105

I guess I'll write a post before heading off. :)

Just scrutinized some of my more recent posts and I realized something. There's no need to hold impossible standards for my own writing. This may come across as rather odd but just reading the pieces I wrote before actually moved me.

I'll attribute it to the fact I revisit previous state of minds, going back to how I felt as I wrote those lines, one at a time. :')

Nostalgic.

I'm on my way to writing more decent pieces, but I've still got to learn a different style of penning my thoughts down as well as eliminating the telltale tone of my usual musings. To some, the things I wrote are just way too depressive. My take on this is that now, I no longer exude the dark and repressive tone within my words. :D

That aside, have you ever pondered upon the strength of a song? How a certain song can make you tear up inside while you're sad and yet, the very same song can cause you to grin ear to ear when you're happy.

I've several songs like that within my library.

Heh.

I should leave soon, it's almost time. Finally finished packing too!

*double checks post* Okay. If you're reading then HIIIII. :D Hahahahha. :P

Doodle #105

Sometimes I just like to sit back, and relax. Perhaps this is one of those times.

I just love to stare at my blog header, first one that was done purely by my own effort. Maybe someday I'll do another complete revamp of my blogsite. This current theme's getting rather dull. It's nice, but I would describe it as a lighter, or more reserved version of the dark depressing theme that decorated my page before this current one.

Chimes of nature echo ubiquitously,
The sounds of life surround oneself,
Music to one's ears,
Muffled by the intensity of sheer desire,
Depicted in unruffled quietude.

I wish not the sight of your saddened smile,
Sentiments veiled by an alluring facade,
Picturesque perfection shrouds your splendor,
Details by now fully acquainted with,
Quell any further doubt,
Keep faith within yourself.

In the field, a lone flower stands,
Amidst the barren land, it thrives,
A testament of resolve,
Fervor ablaze with unbridled zeal.

Tinted a bright shade of red,
It lay beyond my grasp,
Tempting my innermost longing,
Embodied within a single rose,
Lustrous in appearance,
A spectacle to behold.

Bound by a thread, you tug at my very heart,
With every little thing that you do.
Sometimes you just have to look closer,
For it may just be within reach,
Hidden in plain sight.

Look beyond the shell,
Under the guise of a bequest,
A single piece of parchment,
Holds up my heart.

Took me awhile to complete this one. Had to wait for moments of inspiration before I could slowly add line after line to this piece. I've yet to learn the proper manner of symbolism so I would assume that my work is still pretty direct. I had my doubts on posting this up, cause well, I'm still rather unsure of the way I write.

Maybe I write these things too often these days. I need to find everything and compile them nicely. Hahahah. Shall revisit my older poems now.

Doodle #104 : Cold Mornings, Misty Days

Here it is, my maiden trip to Genting Highlands. Pretty late, considering that it's my 19th year of life. Well, I've said it before, I missed out a lot of things throughout my life.

But no matter. Least I'm here now. :)

So the rendezvous point was set at McD, KK at 6:30AM, was it? After some delay we pushed off. My trip mates? Darren, Edwin Ooi, Jon, Joel, WK, Aly, Joy, Krystle, Kareshma. Pushed off roughly around 7AM in a van.

The journey there was rather uneventful, on my part. Just sat down with my iPhone playing in my ear while watching the road taken. Did I mention it was cold? The A/C was literally being blasted into me, and I left my jacket back in the trunk. Ah well. I 'screamed?' in joy silently when it was turned off as we began our ascent. To the top.

We're almost there.

The lobby of First World Hotel, our lodgings for the day.

So we settled down, got to the registering of our rooms and whatnot. Took our keys, dropped our luggage. You wouldn't want me to bore you with this right, why dwell on details? :D

Long story short, we unpacked.

Then headed off to the theme park. Only that it was only 8:30 in the morning, and the park ticketing place thingy only opens at 9:30, precisely an hour later. So what exactly does one do to kill time?

You WALK around. Explore the place. You can see how misty it is. My breath actually fogged up as I spoke. Yes, I was very fascinated with that. I kept trying to catch a shot of myself breathing out mist, to no avail I might add.

Can't see anything through this.

Found a local small park-like place to sit down and relax. It had this maze thing. Wk actually cried out "Help, I am lost," the very moment he stepped into it. Fail.

Well, someone seems to be enjoying himself.

There was this dude who helped us take our group shots. Though I admit he was very kind and helpful, I couldn't stray away from the thought that he was a little too kind and helpful, borderline creepy even. D:

An hour later, it's open!

Had a rather odd discussion while waiting for the tickets.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand.... WE'RE IN!

The spinner, our first ride, a rather exhilarating one too, for the day.

Next up, a ride on the smaller coaster in the park, "Malaysia's First Roller Coaster" I quote from the signboard. It was a really short ride. REALLY SHORT ride.

With that said and done, time for something more fun.

GO KARTS! Not quite, wasn't our turn yet and the wait was rather long.

The girls queued up and had their turn first.

So instead, we (the guys) took off and tried out a ride close by.

CORKSCREW FTW!

The first drop, mindboggling. D: GARHH. Other than that, mehh. Note, sit at the front of back to really enjoy it. As in the FRONT / REAR MOST cart. Don't bother bout anything in between, not that big a thrill compared to the 2. I know, I've tried. Sat on the ride 3 times in fact.

We then went back for the Go Karts. The guys and girls switched rides, so to speak.

Highlight #1
We were observing the karts as they sped through the track at blazing speed, and noted down several carts to take (2,22,14, whatnot but not the point) and managed to pinpoint the SLOWEST cart among them. So we said "Eh, remember NOT to take Kart#17, it's dam bloody slow" When it was our turn, Jon managed to get Kart#14, the fastest one, parked next to #17. A quick glance to the left, he spotted WK in it. "Why you take that one? It's 17!" Wk's reply? "Huh?" LOL

Among the dudes, I finished second. Thanks to Edwin and Jon's collision at the corner of the track. Good Karts, Fail Driving. LOL

Pirate Ship coming up. Consider it a smaller replica of the one at Sunway Lagoon, and this one didn't go 360.

I chose to sit it out and carry luggage instead. Krystle sat this out too.

It was dubbed "worst ride ever" by Darren. Then again, WK and Jon's unmoving expressions of boredom throughout the ride did say the same. Sadly, nothing to look at in the opposite seat like back in Sunway. HAHA.

Everyone then went for this "haunted house" ride. Just looking at it, I sat it out too. Somehow knew that it'd be boring. True enough, 15 minutes later, Darren came out "Okay, I take it back. THIS is the worst ride ever" HAHAH.

Spent my waiting time trying to win this. So cute larhh! Couldn't get it. :(

Romantic boat rides anyone?

I pedaled till me feet hurt. We tried reverse parking the boat, failed miserably, cept for Jon. Edwin's one was most fail, he drove? across 3 docks trying to get his boat inside in reverse.

On to the next one!

I don't really know what they call this so I'll just call it the "spaceshot" is it? Details, details. Just look at this beast.

After an hour's wait, the guys are finally at the gates. Needless to say, I sat this one out too. I'm not one for plummeting from extreme heights. When it became misty, it became REALLY misty. I couldn't even see halfway up the tower. Just imagine how it must be like to be at the top, not being able to see a thing before WHOOSH, you're sent spiralling downwards.

The next few hours were spent relaxing at First World Plaza. Oh, did I mention that buying food up there is akin to daylight robbery? I kid you not. Well, for someone like me it did feel that way. RM13 for a plate of ordinary Chicken Rice. Standard price for that where I live? RM4. That's almost x3 the price. Just wow.

Played pool with BW and WK.

Dawdled a bit more at the park before returning. Went for more rides on the spinner and browsed the small stands for the games.

FINALLY I WON SMTH. Wasn't the seahorse I was yearning for, but it was nice nonetheless. :)

Back to the hotel! Freshened up and left for dinner. Chucked my prize back in the room so I didn't look that conspicuous walking about with it.

KFC, RM20. GARH. I'm officially broke yo'. The dudes went to play even more pool. For the first time ever, I think I might be sick of pool. I still have that on and off style of playing. Never consistent. I need practice yo'.

Club9 anyone? I wanna play more. 8D

Gathered at Aly and Joy's room after we got back. Talked, played stuff, had fun.

Highlight #2
Aly showed us her class shirt with her classmates photos on it. Edwin said "Hey this guy looks like Joel! Oh wait, he IS joel!" #fail

Monopoly Deal (Joel won without actually being there), then Mafia (which Joel also won when he was the Killer), Big2 (english name for it?) chor tai di (canto) la and also.. some other random card games I can't remember.

Highlight #3
Edwin and WK were both playing with the tv switch, oblivious to each other. Edwin was pressing P+ while WK was pressing P- (not exact buttons but those are the Astro remote counterparts for those buttons, to switch channel la). The tv kept showing "Channel 9" *blink* "Channel 9" *blink* "Channel 9" They looked at each other, saw what they were both doing, then LOLed. #megafail

The noobs.

Aly.

Called it a day at 1AM, went back and slept. Really needed sleep badly.

Day 2?

Woke up reasonably early and headed down to our buffet breakfast. Somehow or rather, Jon and I were the earliest (again) and waited roughly 15 minutes for everybody else to come down. Why Malaysian time larh? :(

NOM NOM NOM.

They had to put the coffee machine ALL THE WAY ACROSS the hall la! Took me so long to get there and painstakingly balance my coffee cup on the way back to our table. Why torment the coffee fanatic? :(

Went to get our movie tickets.

HP7P2.

:))

Finally I'm not one of those sad souls left out when a movie is released. :D

EVEN MORE POOL GARHH. This time I had my prize with me. Looked extremely conspicuous walking about with it. Well, checked out of the hotel already, had to carry it around.

To the cable car station!

Long way down.

The trip down the cable car took about 15 minutes, felt like forever to me though. The bus ride on the other hand was just under 30 minutes, we were back in 1U. Felt good. :))

Got back to KK around 6pm, and home by 6:30. Took a nice long nap.

That concludes today's post. I'll be going Genting again this coming Wednesday, this time with some of my Monash buddies. I know what to bring along though, FOOD.

Kinoc, out.

Doodle #103

Time for a short rant.

I'll get into the writings for both the high school class trip to Genting as well as today's party sometime later. Maybe tomorrow, or the day after. I guess hobbies always die out after awhile, maybe you just lose interest, or you just can't find the time. Regardless of reason, you cannot refute the outcome.

It's been so long since I last picked up my guitar. True, they're both well within arm's length as I sit at my desktop, browsing the net. But since my GuitarPro5 program died, I've never been able to locate a replacement guitar tablature program. Perhaps I have not been looking hard enough. I do have Power Tabs but they're nowhere near as fun to use. Hence, my guitar-ing just.. died out. They both lay within reach, yet ignored most of the time.

I've no songs to learn up anyway. Last song I played, and still remember how to would be 'She is Love' by Parachutes. I've gotta say, it was pretty satisfying to learn it up, especially since I haven't played my acoustic for almost a year before picking the song up. All I have is basic knowledge of chords, nothing about scales nor techniques. So much for being a guitarist. I guess it was all hot air to begin with since I never had the passion for music, except listening to it and spreading the hype for otherwise relatively unknown bands.

How long has it been since I last hit the gym? I can't even remember anymore. Another plan gone with the wind. Since the ban on the gym at the club, I hadn't bothered to work out anymore. Heard it's been lifted but I could find no motivation whatsoever to begin my routine again. All I'm doing is try to keep to my regular jogging routine, with little success.

Guess it just shows how indecisive I am, or rather, a failure to stick with my resolutions. Meh. Somehow or rather, I can feel my life wasting away while I do absolutely nothing to make anything of myself. Sure, I get by on a day to day basis but that's bout it.

What is purpose, but a direction one heads?

I yearn for the days to tick by hastily, for the day to come where I'll begin my redundant studying routines again. I may complain on the outside on how I hate waking up early, wanting to sleep in, and abhorring the workload but inside, maybe I've always enjoyed it.

This post sounds clustered and fragmented. Does it? Can't say that I'm getting anywhere near the proficiency level I'd like to have. To write in my old style may be somewhat pretentious, but it did give me a sense of self-satisfaction.

Throwing arduous words about with little or no effort. Those were the days. I've just been lacking both drive and inspiration.

Guess that concludes today. I feel drained, both mentally and physically. Just glad I didn't get lost on the drive home, felt good to drive without traffic on the road.

Kinoc, out.

Doodle #102 : From Russia, With Lotsa Love

The title gives a hint of today's post. :))

A certain someone has finally made her appearance. After months of discussing and planning, and discussing, she's finally home. Since the day she left with nothing but a mere note to everybody, we've been waiting. So this post, will be about today, a day with Watson the Wall. LOL.

That someone. :) DINDINGGG!

And also with Prem "Chocolate" Singh, Jo Keat, Hamsup Yee, Jing, as well as Kelvin.

Met up first with Jo Keat, Prem and Alvin who was Watson's driver. Movie time!

Uncle la, haiz.

Drumroll please..

I can finally say that I've watched Transformers : The Dark Of The Moon!

No longer will I be the sad lonely ol' chap who gets left out during a conversation about it. Although by now nobody'll talk about it ._. Mehhh. Slow la me. ):

Da-yummmm, Carly's hot. LOL.

That aside, the movie was quite good la overall. Storyline was rather shocking at some parts, although suspisions regarding the plot twists did arise. Not to mention that I've had to endure some spoiler sessions, from 2 of my peers who just went about discussing it cheerily while I was talking to them. I shall not name names. :))

Oh yea, we had Chatime too. Yum.

Okay back to the movie. I really felt so saddened at some parts. When the Autobot was shot in cold blood. :'( Bahhhhh. Fight scenes, darn cool. Love the fights with Shockwave. The bugger controls this massive earthworm like Decepticon. Cool stuff yo'.

You know what, most people have seen it so who needs SPOILER ALERTS.

Coolest scenes (to me) would be the one Sam actually single-handedly took out Starscream. Just wow. And the two mini Autobots (whose names I do not know) brought down one of the big ass Decepticon battleships. They were actually pretty useful after all, that one act saved Bumblebee from otherwise certain head-exploding death. HURRAH!

The songs were pretty awesome too, especially at the credits. The Linkin Park song, Iridescent sounded like a Christian song. Really soothing. When the opening riff for Paramore's Monster started playing, I just froze in place for a moment, wanting to listen to it till the very end.

Squabbling, as always.

After the movie, we wandered about aimlessly around Pyramid to kill some time. It was only 3.00pm then. We had free time till 4.30pm.

Had a snack at Subway. First time I'm eating at that place (YES LORH FIRST TIME) I ate lettuce! Urgh, veggies. ):

Took over Watson's DLSR, played around A LOT with it.

Snap, snap, snap.

Saw Yee Ing, Jia Ee, Jess and Zid while I was walking about Pyramid.

When the clock struck 4, we walked to Sunway College, via the Canopy Walk. I was rather surprised that Alvin had never been on it. Well, not too much on Watson since she left before the pathway was finished. Both Jo and Prem left at this time, they had to get home. Aw man. ):

Why college you ask? Well, to relive our year together.

Nahhh.

To meet Jing, and Itianne (super camera shy la she). Loitered around the Student Centre for a bit, enjoying the air cond and reminiscing. Good times. :)) I miss college. Kiddy Pool table!! :D

Met T-Boss Thanesh too!

Bid Itianne goodbye as she headed home and the rest of us headed to Mid Valley for dinner where we were joined by Kelvin. It took us almost an hour to drive there as we were caught in the 6pm Federal Highway Jam.

Oh yeah, we dropped by SS15 to tapau Snowflakes to bring to MidValley to eat (which we didn't in the end. Mine's in the freezer now). But why the fuss? Well.. Someone had insisted that we get Snowflakes but also that we do NOT eat at SS15 because the shop is small and cramp. :/ Hahhaha.

Well, I wouldn't say that there was much to be done in Mid Valley. Dinner at Chili's. That's about it.

Dispersed! Went home exhausted.

p.s. I think I shot over 100 photos, maybe 150? using Watson's DSLR. Happy trigger finger. :)) I need to get one for myself.

Doodle #101 : Pavillion with the Blondies

Yeah, I had to save my 100th doodle for something special. :) LOL

Back to the matter at hand,

Sometime back, I headed down to Pavillion KL with the 2 blondies, and Stan. It was the first time I headed down to KL after almost a year. I can't remember the last time I went down with my family. Only this time it was with friends, my first time in fact. Another point to note is that we were being led by ß, Adeline.

Is it safe to say that we're in good hands?

First I had to get Stan from his place and also Blondie from hers before making our way to Adeline's place to gather. For some reason, I was unaware of the proper route from Blondie's place to Adeline's so I ended up taking the long way, a full circle going along the highway and back. Turns out there was a route only 1/3 as long. I felt like a dunce then. Then again, better safe than sorry, right?

Took the LRT down to KL Sentral from Taman Bahagia. Blondie-α seemed rather fascinated with it. We saw a kid who had really pretty eyelashes, enough to give Dave a run for his money. The kid was so young too. Probably 5 or so. Moving on, we took a slow walk down to the MRT station from KL Sentral. Maybe I'm more spoilt than I realize, blondie and I were exchanging ideas about how gruelling the walk was.

Several extensively long agonizing painful searing hot blazing hear hours under hot sun minutes later, we found ourselves at the Bukit Bintang stop, the station next to Sungei Wang. Headed towards Pavillion where we were stopped by a few shady looking people asking for our support in some random product I do not really cared about. They just kept nagging you on and on and on. Took me awhile to get away from the guy to rejoin the rest who had each shaken off their assailants naggers.

Another hour ten minutes or so we were there. Pavillion. WOOT.

Now what?

First things first, we were all HUNGRY. Hence, the only logical choice would be to fill our empty stomachs, to fuel the rest of our days.

Took lunch at The Loaf.

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6Bz3yvfQ4S7gXm5K81GxjyOaNbA4ut2Jjyj9ngPuVv47tPNkg4oO3IF9tawtQKLGuhbPXFpfj71VpQzaOBcOzigizY8frY0E7tQFV0ncQyL3Uj9lobgOSCmCcyG5d98ySPrLatxahYNZ5/s400/3.jpg

The food isn't bad. Though I didn't really get to try the pastry, all I had was the spaghetti. Frankly, not within my price range, I think it took out 1/3 of the cash I brought for shopping purposes.

Then again, didn't get much shopping done. Adjourned to ESPRIT after lunch. Browsed around but couldn't seem to find anything I fancied. Saw the trench coat again but nowhere near enough cash on hand this time, and it'll be a waste too.

I've all the things I need, more shirts than I wear and enough T-shirts. Tried on a pair of white pants, not my thing. Left empty-handed. ):

Browsed around some more.

I guess all we did was window shop from door-to-door. Frankly, it felt rather odd to shop since the main reason for the outing was for me and blondie to shop while everyone else just watched and browsed about.

Couple of hours later, just sat down at Boost Juice Bars to just kick back and relax. Sadly, they were out of Cookies&Cream. Couldn't try it. (But I got it a few days later when I headed down to Pavillion alone to get something) So still happy I tried. Not bad, but not really my thing. Haha.

That's about it I guess. Made our way home, well before 5pm.

I feel a need to improve my writing skills. Just saying so already feels redundant, no thanks to the countless amount of times I've reminded myself to brush up.

Didn't take many pictures, odd. Doesn't feel like me.

Doodle #100 : Thankful

Before I get into my outing the other day, I'd just like to express how grateful I am for the way things have turned out. On a few things as a matter in fact.

First and foremost, Semester 1 results have just been released by Monash. Best of luck to each and every fellow Monash-ian from every course, whether we are acquainted or not. The release of the results really had a, to say the least 'unexpected' factor to it. I hadn't been expecting any news till at least noon tomorrow, yet my phone rang midway through a HoN match. Jean had called me up to verify the authenticity of the SMS she received about her results. Frankly, that really jolted me. I mean, my own results will be arriving anytime soon.

Needless to say, a few minutes after I hung up the call, my phone buzzed. I didn't need to check the message to know what it was. When I did, my notions were only confirmed. It was an unknown number, Australian.

Here goes nothing.. *click*

"my.monash portal SMS Results:
PAC1111 ...XX,
PAC 1121 ...XX,
PAC 1211 ...XX,
PAC 1311 ...XX"

My complacent work throughout Semester 1 lead to this moment. The only thing that I can say is that I'm..

Thankful.

Yes. I wouldn't say that I've aced the tests but I had certainly exceeded my own expectations, 'cause that's what really counts. You have to reach the goal you've set for yourselves. There's not much to be gained when you put yourself against others for the sake of comparison. A lesson I learnt well from a brother. :)

Bottom line is, I'm really happy that I had passed all 4 units, and that I'll be able to see everyone again the following semester. Feels rather nolstagic, felt like receiving my AUSMAT results. :')

Cheers. :)

On a side note, I just cannot understand why do people openly deny responsibility for their actions despite evidence clearly showing otherwise. I wouldn't say that I really cared before this, but recent events have really touched me, to say the least. A picture's worth a thousand words, and backed with video evidence, how can one deny it? Aghast.

I'll get writing on my trip after this.

Doodle #99 : Broga Hill

I apologize for the lengthy delay for putting up this post. I've been experiencing some technical issues with my computer throughout the entire week. Not only has it crashed on it, well.. It crashed on me. At least 5 times within 3 days I had to reformat it.

In the end, I gave up on XP, and I'm currently on Windows7 *cheers*

Back to the main topic...

Sometime last week, a Saturday if I recall correctly, I joined my highschool classmates on a trip to Broga Hill (hence, the title of this post). Well.. We were scheduled to depart from KK in 2 cars, driven by our ever dependable class monitor, Beng Way (Jon, WK, Joel, and I) and the not so dependable Edwin Ooi (Joy, Andrea, Kareshma, Alicia) *bracketed names are passangers* at approximately 4:40am. Needless to say, nothing ever really goes as planned. Some of us were late, for our respective reasons, and we only left close to 5am.

Gawd, that was one of the earliest times I've woken up.

So we pushed off, determined to catch sunrise despite the initial delays. All was well.. We found ourselves reaching the SKVE highway, and continued on.. Until we noticed we were heading back in the opposite direction. Better yet, we were heading back towards a toll we had just passed. A U-turn later, we passed the same toll, a third time and drove back to our wrong turning.

This time, convinced we were right "THE BIG ASS SIGN LARHHH" we carried on.. Towards another toll, and what seemed to be a VERY dark and abandoned highway. "This isn't even on my map!" - Jon. Baaad news. We asked the lady at the toll booth. We were on the right highway all right, just heading in the completely wrong direction.

Garh.

Hours later, we finally reached the hill, at least an hour later than we'd like, and also after an additional RM10 in toll fees.

Luckily enough, the day was still dark as we moved uphill.

All was well, until I saw this (what I would call) near impossible incline.

This was only viewpoint 1, the first of four viewpoints, which only proceed higher up in the hill.

Not too shabby.

Sunrise :)

Looking off.

My Viewpoint 1 buddy, Alicia.

We both ended up bagsitting. Aly was tired, and I couldn't be bothered to hike up an additional 3 viewpoints.

So..........

CAMWHORE~!

Hours later, after the sun had risen and were bearing down on us.. The others finally got back.

Back down, the ridiculously steep incline.

Slide Jon, SLIDEEE.

What?! We only climbed 1.7km?

Hikers for the day.

Went back to KK for breakfast at Auntie Juliet's. Not exactly the best place for breakfast.

It was only 9am, yet felt like 2pm. Super tired.

That concludes this post..

Next? Pavillion with the blondies! :)

Doodle #98

I know I've been posting up less and less often. I'll get to them soon.

Broga Hill will be next post written.

The days pass by agonizingly slowly.
