Doodle #213: GFG Malacca Day 1

Malacca 1

Time for a mid semester break recap!

First things first, went down to Malacca with the Hip Hop crew (most of them) as part of a GFG initiative. Once again, I played the role of driver, meeting up with everyone else in uni before setting out. Though we still had to take breakfast before the trip.

Went over to SS15 for some handmade wanton noodles (the shop is a little ways down the road from the 40 minute pork noodle shop). The thing about these noodles is that they are handmade, at 4am in the morning. You can really feel the difference. :D

Off to Malacca! *fast forward roughly 1hr20mins of singing in the car*

Hit Jonker's first for a dose of chicken rice balls, or chicken balls rice for some of us. :p Note how simple word swaps makes it so.. Dots. OM NOM NOM The queue was LONG, but well worth the wait. Go for the corner shop on the right the moment you enter Jonker's after the bridge, it looks like an old coffee shop. You'd always see a like outside just waiting to get in. So much better than all the commercialized machine made ones.

After our stomachs were sated (then again the GFG is never sated), took a walk around the town. I must highlight how in that short 2 hour span of walking, we heard GANGNAM STYLE at least a minimum of TEN (10) times! :O My ears just died.

After what seemed like an eternity under the sun, we ended up in Mahkota Parade, or the surrounding area (not good with my Geography), the one with a Nadeje branch. OM NOM NOM cakes. I'm stating now that I've changed my perception of their cakes. The first time I came down, the cakes literally felt like eating paper, but this branch is just. Heavenly. :D Texture, taste, feel, all (Y) Then we ordered several of their funky drinks, it felt like a lab experiment. Glasses of blue, red, yellow, tri-colored, and ice-cream coffee were literally passed around every time we took a sip from either. It was like a rainbow! Colours flowing everywhere. I kid you not it was that epic. :D

Traversed the hot sun to get back to my car then it was off for.. Some giant warehouse which name I had forgotten but it sold durian cendol out in the front. We got to take a picture with the boss too, who was giving out free drinks. You can see the Malaysianism when literally EVERYONE within 50 feet rushed to greet him just for a free drink. Yeah.

Couldn't get his attention. @@

C-o-c-o-n-u-t milkshake time! Same place as before, the famous one in.. Some kampung area, had to drive inside to reach the shop. Had a taste of Malaysian drivers again as everyone REFUSED to give way in a road only wide enough for a car. It was literally a deadlock until Alex came to save the day. Asshole black myvi driver I remember you. ==

Now for the highlight of the day, going down to the beach. Everyone got changed at a nearby bar. Once again, GANGNAM STYLE. This time, nobody could resist. :D

The staff literally ran out cheering and screaming "ENCORE ENCORE", they actually replayed the song another 2 times. Holy damn. This is what happens when you have an MDFC trip.

We requested Party Rock Anthem, but sadly they didn't have the song. :(  Ah well, cue freestyle session somewhat.

Now for some sand in our feet. Why do I always not bring shorts and slippers for occasions like this?! Nevertheless, played with bubbles and flew a kite, ad danced, in the sand.

Every beach needs a jump shot.

Bubble matrix.

Dancing in the sand, odd yet strangely very enjoyable.

Dinner time! Some Baba-Nyonya restaurant somewhere in town. Food was okay, can't remember the place though. Back to Jonker's for a second time that day. Saw a lot of handmade items, action figurines made of springs, tin foil, and wiring. Ohmygosh they were so cool! Then the rest ate some small crab, which I couldn't bring myself to eat before they were so cute! :(

"So cute *push hand away*, but so good *bite*, so cute *push hand away* but so good *swallows crab whole*" LOL

To close off the first day, we headed down to the jetty (the same one Jhii took us to before). But upon arrival.. JENG JENG JENG. there was none to be found! The only thing we saw was reclaimed land all the way out to what used to be sea. :(( so Plan B! We drove around and suddenly...

FUNFARE. Bumper cars and darts. :))

Shit just got serious on the drive home, but that's some epic thing.

Reached the house and started preparing for the night. The dice we picked up at Jonker's really livened up the mood. Each face on the dice had an action, and you had to perform the action rolled. Notable ones included: push ups + singing, plant face on wall + singing, split + silly face, split + hug. xD

Talked until 4am before we decided to call it a night. I was so drained!

We sang, we danced, we laughed. :)

Doodle #211 : That Time of Year

Hello guys! Decided to make an appearance again since it's that special time of year again. :D I know it's been awhile but I swear I've been swamped with assignments and work! Just handed in the final draft of my group's lab report earlier this morning and had a second lab session right after! The report's more or less done which is why I'm spending time dawdling here.
The day started off like any other, left for Monash early in the morning to take part in the daily Parking Wars ritual. Raced off to the parking lot to battle for the closest available spot to the bridge walkway, cause I'm lazy like that. I've the Malaysian blood coursing through my veins! HUZZAH.

Well, dawdled in the morning..

Breakfast..

More dawdling..

Oh right, in case you missed it. It's my birthday today. :D WHEEEE. This is the part you jump for joy and cheer for me. CHEER FOR ME YOU PEASANTS.

Met 2 friends and collected some very meaningful gifts. :) I feel so happy already! Hee.

Sometimes, the best thing about birthdays is hearing from people you haven't heard from in a long time. Got wishes from some of my fellow ex-Ausmatians. A special text was the icing on the cake. :')

Well then it was time for classes...

BREAK! Gawd damn, I'm hungry. Heh.

Oddly enough, Josh suggested Lunch Box which is against his usual policies. But I was much too hungry to ponder upon his change in stance, and my stomach craved Butter Cream Chicken so why not? OFF TO LUNCH BOX. While passing Starbucks, he told me Christine and Stacey were upstairs. So I thought "Okay lah, go say hi to them before lunch!" *walk walk walk*.. Goes upstairs.. Goes past bookcase.. Sees Christine and Stacey. Sees Xiao Mei Mei, Sees Lynn.. Lynn?? Sees Alex and Jet. Sees gigantic chocolate cake on table.

Uh oh, was I not suppose to walk in on this?

Then they started singing, dam loud, in Starbucks. OMG DAM PAISEH. After they sat me down "Eyh not everyone was here just now!! SING AGAIN" I was like wtheck?! DUNWAN LAHH. Course, that didn't stop em. Bloody awesome fellas. :)

CHOCOLATE. *heart melts*

According to Christine, my hands started tutting. WHATTT? Since when?!

So I sat down quietly and cut my cake.

EEEE. So scary!

When in doubt, GANGNAM STYLE.

Haihh kena bully.

AGAIN. :(

Looks like model mom and small kid. LOL

 Don't even ask.
