I can safely say I found a new hobby. PEWPEWPEW.
Dropped by uni on Wednesday for a Nerf game, organized by Jayhan. A little gathering for those who play and an introduction for those that didn't, like myself. The meet up was at 10.30 where everyone spent a little time to get to know everyone other before shooting at each other. :D The venue for the match was the Basement of Building 6. The hallways and pillars make it an awesome place for dart matches. Reminds me of $_2000_$ map in CS.
It was a few hours where we mostly played TDM. Guns were assigned and ammunition provided, I took this:
Beauty isn't she? :)
Teams were randomized and it was off! 3 minutes strategizing before a 5 minute shootout, or until everyone on a team was taken out.
Times like this, FPS experience pays off. And that one stint I had at paintball too. Erected some defensive barriers and took up positions.
Played defensively initially but after a stalemate, need to rush d. CHARGEEEE. This is probably the funniest moment of the day, I rushed the left flank and took out the guys there and circled round right to take out the enemy flank from the back. I saw Christine and rushed her, doing some epic slow-mo Matrix jump into the open and pulled the trigger. *click* My gun didn't fire. Apparently I looked at it with the most bewildered expression before realizing I was a sitting duck now and ran for cover with my teammates. But when they saw me rushing for cover with them, they almost all started to shoot at me, wtheck!
At the end, Jayhan decided to hold a mini contest for those who were new to Nerf. A randomized 1v1 shootout. No cover, no running, full on rush.
First match randomized me against Anan. I have no idea why but a moment of inspiration hit me. I had to pull off smth epic, and I somehow did.
Second match up paired me against Christine. Let's just say my bravado vanished and I accidentally ran out of the designated area. D:
With that, Christine moved on to the finals against Joshua who won his match against someone else. After some running about, Joshua landed the perfect headshot to seal the game.
His prize?
A basic Nerf pistol starter pack! Jelly..!
MUTINY.
Boo yeah.
All in all.. Matching bruises on both elbows and one on my knee from the first shootout. Well worth it. :) Planning on getting a second-hand Nerf pistol now. :) Hee. Big thanks to Jayhan for holding the little get together for Nerf-ers. A childhood dream realized. :))
UPDATE: Have my very one Vigilon now, thanks Jayhan for helping me get the awesome deal. :D
