Doodle #201

Just a quick recap post. The holidays have definitely been packed since they begun.

Monday

Outing at OU with the Nonsensicals. Probably only the 3rd time in 2 years that I set foot in that place. Well it's roughly a 40 minute drive from my place and in the complete opposite direction from uni as opposed to Kemuning. I suppose my lack of visits are justified.

Standard outing, I would say. Lunch at Nando's with the gang when all our jaws dropped when the final person appeared. :P Stunning la! Hahaha. You reading this ah? Hen piau liang ahhh. HAHAHA.

Then, movie!

All I can say for this movie is.. a lot less gruesome than I expected. So it was supposedly the prequel to Aliens, showing how they were formed and whatnot. It took much too long for the first (very predictable) deaths to occur. And the characters didn't die the way I initially expected, hey pleasant surprise.

But at the end of it all, the first response I got was "Hey Kino, can you tell me who chose this movie?" which just about sums up what I felt as well. Hahahaha. A bit too slow and "not gory enough" as some of us put it.

Hands down, my favourite dude is David, despite his somewhat evil intentions (can he actually be evil?) at the beginning. That's what makes him badass. :D

Played bowling as well! Against my better judgement. Joshiee was so against the idea of "whoever scores the least pays the game for everyone". Hahhaa. But he completely dominated... the first half of the first game. "Aaaaaaaand Joshiee takes the lead for the first and what may be the ONLY time in the competition" was what I said. Sure enough, once I said that everything flatlined afterwards. :P The first few rounds for me was spent trying to readjust my bowling motion due to my foot. I was so scared I'd reinjure it, if that's even possible. D: Sadly, we were ALL off form that day, even Almighty Dave who couldn't clinch the 100 point mark. Nuff' said.

Tuesday

I have absolutely no recollection of what I did that day. *a quick tweet check* Ah yes! I forgot my parking ticket. ==

Had a MUPhaS meeting that day. First time I'll be on the committee, service as Year 2 Rep. Showed up late on my first meeting, what a way to make an impression. D: Bahh.

Well, main thing is the lunch that followed. Chuyukfun at SS15 which I have not eaten in over a semester! Last time I went was during the summer break last year! D: D: D:

Omg, I have sated my taste buds. *drools

Wednesday

Rather uneventful day, spent it buying ingredients. Made chocolate cupcakes. Omnomnom

Thursday

Went to window shop for a bit before watching the movie. :)

Stumbled across the trailer for Brave earlier the night before and thought hey, why not? Very impromptu decision. :D

First thing's first, I cried. HAHA. At the end. Disney movies just have a way of making you tear inside. Toy Story 3.. :') Felt so nostalgic at the start when they played the Pixar introduction animation of the lamp jumping around. I felt like a kid again, and at the same time felt very old. D:

Storyline wise, pretty much your average Disney movie. Princess doesn't want to live the life that has been planned for her and desires freedom. One fine day, she found a way to change her fate and jumped for it. Then one thing just leads to another before she realizes what she's done at the end. The story was somewhat serious but had its fair share of lighthearted moments. The side characters really bring things to life.

Friday

Did not plan anything today, thought everything was canceled when I got a last minute text asking about the day. I don't know why but right then and there we got the Ipoh (Joshiee, Mun, Elaine) people together. Off to OU! Again.

Movie! Or so we thought. There was no time slot early enough for us as Joshiee has to be at the station by 6pm to leave for Klang. Meaning we had to get out of OU by 4.30ish latest. D:

Standard lunch instead! Went to Fish&Co for well.. Fish & Chips. Had a sudden craving for the dish. Mun wanted me to show her around but I don't exactly know OU so yeah. Walked around for awhile then left.

Thought of heading back to 15 for dessert but on the way we passed by Subang Parade and she just yelled out DOME pancakes! *swerve, u-turn* off to Parade! :D

And that about sums up everything.

Somewhat eventful week. :) Good start to the holidays but I feel everything will just slow down from here, till Penang at least. :)

Doodle #200

First event of the holidays (apart from the dinner in the previous post), KLANG TRIP. It wasn't much for the place itself (as Dave had asked) but more towards the fact that we'd all go down together and Dave would be guiding us. :D

Rendezvous point set at Monash at 9.30am. Heh. Designated drivers, Dave and Mel, and there were 6 of us (some of us ah.. you know who you are lahh, go ffk HAIHH) in total so we fit snuggly into 2 cars. xD eyhh kidding only we missed your presence Jean! Dave and I in his, and Jhii, Adeline and Vinci with Mel.

WHEEEEEE. *roughly 30 mins later*

Touchdown in Klang! Good thing about being in Dave's car. Tour guide service. "We're passing ... on our left and as you can see this is .... on our right. That area is where .... used to be". Though the most prominent one I could remember is "Over there is where the KTM tracks are.. and also where the most people die trying to cross them" Okay. Epic silence then. D:

Ate breakfast at this place called Ah Tek BKT. I think. OMG IT WAS SO GOOD. :D Since Joshiee wasn't there, I was basically the clean up guy. Which was a good thing. Ate and ate and ate and ate. :DD

The bulk of the day was then spent at Aeon Bukit Tinggi where the girls shopped their hearts out. xD Oh my, the Cotton On there was HUGE, and had practically everything from everyday clothes to swimwear to literally anything. They even had big block letters on sale and model hands too. D:

Scoured through almost all the shops (I'm amazed at how much they can shop), and finally ended up at Chatime. "Remember to check your number", and I retorted "Remember to check your drink", from something we had discussed just 5 mins prior to deciding to get the drinks. Hah!

Went to Dave's place for a surprise for Jhii. :)

Then, it was back to Sunway! Day well spent.

Doodle #199 : Right Back To The Start

YES! The freedom I've longed so long for is finally here! :D Yet, it feels somewhat anticlimatic. Ironic enough, the final paper of this semester and it was Chemistry. The irony? It was probably the worst paper I've sat for my entire life, making me use to full 2.5 hours given. Yes, being me that is really stretching it. D:

But hey, holidays are here! :D So first order of business, gather up and head out for dinner. Though the planning was somewhat messy. It was a dinner / surprise thing at Fatty Crab, a restaurant down in PJ.. Least, I think it's PJ. My geography and spatial coordination is horrible after the constant mental bashing by my end of semester exams.

So the plan was to head over in seperate cars, but it took a while to sort out who was following who. There was still the matter of preparing the surprise and stuff. After what seemed and felt like an eternity (even the sky turned darker as we waited, not just due to the haze), we pushed off. With Dave in the lead car and me trailing behind him. All the way there, Joshiee and I did our performance for those in my car. Rofl.

There were 15 of us in total, occupying the whole of 2 large tables. The fun part was in the arrangement of seats, somewhat. After we all got down, it was like the couples table and the single table. Hahaha. Of course, our table was the more awesome one. :P

A point to note, it was the FIRST time in my entire life that I'm eating crab. Yes, gasp at this startling revelation! Muahahaha. *audible gasp* But that's the fun part. I had absolutely no idea what or how to eat crab. It was much too messy for me. Good thing about going with friends, Weng kept helping me break off small bits and passing them to me to eat. I'm so touched. :') and Joshiee was breaking off shells for me, Tina and Adeline. We're like his 3 kids! I can't exactly depict the awesomeness of that dinner with mere words, you had to be there to feel the atmosphere. :D

Shows how tough the exams were this time around to turn us all into such hyper people. I'll probably edit this post should the pictures get uploaded. :D

Doodle #198

I'm finally at the end of another semester. Tomorrow is the final hurdle that stands between me, and a month of freedom (until the cycle repeats the next sem).

Hobey ho, let's go.

Doodle #197

I can finally say I'm halfway there, 2 papers down and 2 to go. On the upside, both papers that have passed are what I considered to be the tougher half of the semester (both being strangely easier than I expected). That aside, my signature completion speed did not spare me from making errors I should have never made. But what's done is done.

Now to finish up the last two, which are so much more relaxing. There's no pressure for 2331 cause I know I'll never get a HD for the unit, after getting my total internal marks. So why worry? Just need to score above 65 to get a D. Then again, I shouldn't get overconfident. That'll undermine me.

Finally, 2171. Chemistry. My love, we meet again. :)

I can't wait till the end. Kinoc, out. :)

Doodle #196

Well, here I am again. Just wanted to alleviate some stress before the next study streak begins.

I never liked afternoon papers. They keep me anxious throughout the morning, since I arrive in uni at 7+ almost always. Not that often now, not since I decided it wasn't worth giving up my sleep anymore. Hah. But it's the exam period, and that I will make an exception for.

Today's paper was far from the slaughter I envisioned. Somehow or rather, I suppose they decided to cut us some slack this time round. Heh. Maybe there is a pattern.

For now, blasting Birdy songs. Gonna take a short break and move along to 2161 in a bit.

Hobey-ho.

Doodle #195 : Uncertainty

There's a certain allure to not knowing what the future brings. A tingling sensation knowing that nothing is set in stone, and knowing you carve your own path. The world is your oyster, so to speak.

It's safe to say that the reality of exams is finally dawning on me. It didn't help when I couldn't recall everything I've done up to this point in preparation for tomorrow. The exams officially start tomorrow. 2 bio papers before having my communication and chemistry papers next week. A day till it begins and another 10 till it ends.

I can see the light at the end of the metaphorical tunnel now. However, part of me wishes to stay here. As every exam period marks the end of a semester, and brings me ever so closer to the next ad eventually the end of this course. I don't want things to end, I'm not one for goodbyes.

Oh here I am talking about goodbyes when I'm not even halfway there yet.

But hey, probability comes hand in hand with uncertainly. The inability to predict what's to come keeps things open to option, and one's perceptions. An adrenaline rush, in the face of adversity. But one can't help but to wish things would sway their way.

Hobey-ho, let's go. :)

Doodle #194

Well, I'm back for a bit.

The past week still feels surreal. Has it really been a week? It's Monday at the moment and I'm staring my exams straight in the face. Speaking realistically, this may very well be my weakest semester to date (maybe just one of many more to come).

Running to and fro really took a toll on my state of mind. I'm exhausted both physically and mentally. You could probably get a clue from my previous few posts but yeah, I'm never one to spell things out for people. Life is but temporary, a transition if you please, onto something greater. I guess more of my friends rubbed off me than I realize. Guess I just gotta step back and take a breather, enjoy the little things in life.

I finally said goodbye. A piece of tradition I was never fond of, but had the responsibility to do. Blood is thicker than water, and I'm sure I would have regretted it had I decided to bail on things. Not just for me, but for my family as well. Communication has never been my forte, even more so when language and time played their parts. But I know you know how I feel, wherever you are. :) And family is the one thing that'll never change.

On a side note, I may or may not have mentioned it but I managed to sprain my foot in an accident. Goes to show I shouldn't attempt anything reckless after my body has cooled down, despite the initial warm up. Worst part is I'll be down and out for 3 weeks (this is currently the second), but I find comfort in the fact that by the time 3 weeks end, so will my exams. There goes another semester. One wonders where all that time went. So much has changed, and fate only has so much more planned for me.

I'll try my very best to make the most of the holidays. Only have one confirmed plan though, beside the tentative ones. Here I am talking about the holidays when exams haven't even begun yet. If there's one thing that's constant, it's how I seem to pay less and less attention as exams draw near. The fear is so great that it's desensitived my limbic system. Mehh.

2 days left till exams begin, and another 10 days after that till it ends. I can't wait. :)

Essence of time,
Temporary in existence,
Unchanging in nature,
Cherish every moment passed,
Reach out to every memory,
A memorandum to the past,
A sign for the future.

Gotta start baking again when the holidays start. Yes, I do bake. :D On a completely unrelated note, I kind of miss those 2 idiots. Heh.

Doodle #193

Taking a break for awhile I guess.

Back after the exams in June.
