Her Big Day (:

It's your birthday, so tell me what you wanna do.

Dated 2011 Apr 28.
So I tried planning something for her for the past few weeks. Who?

Her.

With a little help from another good friend of ours, someone who moved to the land down under. A friend who provided a very special guest appearance that day.

Panda!

The original plan was to surprise her on the day itself, not letting her know that I, nor Amanda was planning anything. Mun was supposed to drag Itianne to an undisclosed location where Panda and I were to pop up.

However.. Things hadn't gone to plan, at all.

Somehow or rather, Amanda let slip that I was planning something for her, so she found out.

That's the first part of the masterplan down the drain.

So I was going about my business when I received a call from Mun.

By the most incredible coincidence, Amanda went to Pyramid early that day, and ran into them, wayyyyyy ahead of time. I could hear Itianne screaming in joy in the background.

Well, the surprise and overwhelming joy factor was retained.

It wasn't so bad. :)

So I made my way to college later than the preset time to accommodate the changes in the plan. Ran into some setbacks later too. Ended up at college, wrong place. I was supposed to be at Pyramid.

Several minutes, and some parking later, I found myself in Pyramid scouring shops (Forever 21) for them.

The moment they saw me.. Somehow I turned into like.. Their personal shopping assistant. Files, books, bags, everything just got tossed onto me. Then again, I can't complain. Happy enough just to see them.

After an eternity deciding whether should she (Itianne) get her pendant (which she finally did) spent time on some much needed catching up. Everything felt the way it should be again.

I really miss my college year now. :')

Oh, but of course. The main event. The 3 of us went to a place I'd like to consider as our second home. Or maybe just in my case.

It's been at least 4 months since I last set foot into this place. It felt like I was in college again.

Then SM came to join us. (: It was hilarious trying to guide her to us.

"You know the place near J.Co's? Go straight, keep right, till you reach the corner and incline, etc"

It's a wonder she made it to us with my awesome directions.

Off to SS15 for dessert!

Drove all the way there, the weather was starting to change by then. Overcast, was it?

Luckily, parking was easy. So we made our way to our favourite dessert shop, Snowflakes! What greeted us was far from what we had wanted.

"We are currently closed due to the power outage. Sorry for any inconvenience caused"

I think our jaws just dropped when we saw that notice. Should have taken a shot of it, the notice I mean. After all the way we came for them. *sniff*

So with Snowflakes called off, we headed back to Pyramid. Yes, all the way there and back for almost nothing. Picked up Beaks from SS15 as she and Panda needed to get home. The rain had started to pour, hard.

No snowflakes + Heavy rain = 4 very sad kids.

Well, on the upside, I took Panda's dad parking spot as I dropped her Beaks off at Pyramid. Don't think that sat too well with the guy I cut on my turn. And the jam I caused. It felt goooooooood. :D

Then.. *drumroll please*

Camwhore time. LOLOLOLOL.

Birthday girl with her pendant. (:

So we had another hour or so to kill before time for everyone to disperse.

After searching high and low, we (or rather I, cause someone had the shortest attention span ever) found what we were looking for.

Possible new dessert shop craving?

Menu looks okay.

Itianne's sago.

My chocolate milkshake!

Mun's.. Some random dessert with peanut toppings. Hahha sorry I don't know the name of it. (:

Final verdict? Meh.. It was okay.. Just somewhat overpriced. Then again, almost everywhere is overpriced now. Cost of living's going up yo.

Dropped the girls back at Sunway U, and headed home.

It was a good day. A good day indeed. Simple, yet forever carved into my memory.

Doodle #73 : Put Your Hands All Over Me

Love is a game you say.

2011 Apr 29, Stadium Putra Bukit Jalil.

Yes, Maroon 5 yo! Thanks dad for getting me tickets. You're awesome.

Initially, I had bought my own tickets, seated at U5, as aforementioned in previous posts. Yea, I sold those off. Why? Because I (my dad) managed to get me tickets for the Free Standing Arena B! WOOT.

So began the usual concert drill, meet up before leaving KK at the local McDonalds for an early dinner. Pushed off at 5.00pm though the concert was scheduled to start at 9.00pm. Reached at 5.30pm. You know what that means, we reached the place 3 hours 30 minutes ahead of time.

Wow, just wow.

First time I ever went to a concert that early. I'm not a diehard fan, so yeah. You get it. But there were plus points to going that early. Some of which will be mentioned below.

For starters, this was the line we had to endure when we got there. I mean, what line? We were rather close to the doors. *grins* As you can clearly see, the day was still bright and somewhat sunny. Hopefully that gives you an indication of how early all these people (those in front of me) got there. Those are the diehard fans.

Another plus side? Pre-concert shopping! Thankfully, it was all funded by the tickets I sold off, so I didn't actually spend more cash than I needed to.

Look how nicely that shirt is wrapped! I have yet to open it and remove the shirt from its packaging. It's just so captivating, how nicely it is packaged.

Note : This is an UNOFFICIAL shirt. Means, it's not the actual concert shirt. Yet, it's so awesomely wrapped up. The OFFICIAL one I bought was just stuffed into a random plastic bag. Meh.

UNOFFICIAL > OFFICIAL
(in terms of packinging lah)

The free sticker that came with the shirt I bought!

So we sat down, and waited.

My concert buddy! Maroon 5 enthusiast, Joselyne!

And waited.

Jose brought her Hands All Over album, for reasons I do not know. Haha.

And waited some more.

Now, a major plus point for arriving at 5.30pm. The time this shot was taken was approximately 6.30pm. Notice how LONG the line has gotten. It trails all the way outside the shot.

Then we waited even more.

The sky darkened, the crowd gushed in, the streetlights came on, more peddlers came to sell off their tags and stuff, and we still waited.

Then, at approximatedly 8.30pm. The doors finally opened, accompanied with screaming and occasional shrieking from the crowd.

We made our way to the stage (Felt just like last October, when I went for Adam Lambert. Same area too!) and placed ourselves, right at the front of Arena B. Cheers for showing up ridiculously early!

This is our view from where we stood. Elevated a few feet from actual eye height.

Taking pictures yo! As you can see, second row ftw.

If we had kept our previous tickets, we'd be here. Right at the back of this shot. Note the opening with the lights at the top centre of this shot. We'd be right beside that. I apologize for the lousy quality. I need a decent camera. *hint hint*

Arena A was in front of us. Seriously, look at their utilization of space. So much space wasted. D: Increased the gap from the stage to where we stood. NOOO. *cue sad face*

Final checks before the show started. Lights, instruments, etc.

I find it rather irate that how people can just shriek every time someone tests an instrument. I mean like..

Guitar strum. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Bass note played. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Someone hits the drum cymbals. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Urgh.

It was then a group of smart asses thought they could get a better view of the stage by climbing onto the stacked cushion like objects placed at the side. Not only were they endangering themselves, but they pissed off security too. Like, wow.

A few lot of minutes later, the lights dimmed, the crowd went ecstatic. Screaming, and squealing, begging Maroon 5 to come out.

Slowly, the 5 members of Maroon 5 made their entrance.

Zero opening acts, zero nonsense DJs, zero dancing.

100% pure music.

This is how a concert should be.

They opened with Misery. I'd say that at that point, the energy levels in the crowd just skyrocketed. I didn't really expect them to open with that song though. I kinda thought that it would be played sometime in the middle.

Awesome nonetheless.

They followed up dishing hit after hit. Give A Little More, Never Gonna Leave This Bed were among the other songs they played off their latest album.

Adam Levine captivated the crowd when they played Stutter.

The crowd went Stutter, stutter, stutter.

Not forgetting their older hit songs, the high points during the night was when they played This Love, and of course, She Will Be Loved, Wake Up Call, If I Never See Your Face Again and Harder to Breathe.

And a special dedication to the ladies,

I Won't Go Home Without You.

They left the stage, leaving the crowd wanting more. You know the drill.

We want more!! We want more!! Encore!!

They came back on shortly after leaving, wrapping up the night with almost perfect renditions of,

Makes Me Wonder, a song I can't seem to remember now (gasp) and, Sunday Morning.

And so the night was concluded.

It was a good, good night.

Once again, to those of you who I called mid performance, sorry for the noise pollution.

That means you, the guy who swore at me (you know who you are). Show some gratitude dammit. D: LOL

Kinoc, out.

Happy Birthday!

Well, I kinda like how the 3 most influential people in my life have their birthdays within such a close time span. Makes everything that much more awesome.

Happy Birthday sis, thanks for always being there when I needed you.

You are the best AusMat sis anybody can have, (:

Doodle #72 : Header

Hello readers,

Personally, I'm loving the new header! Are you?

Haha, it's the first time I made one on my own, my previous one was done by Lillian. Awesome Paramore header.

If it's not exactly that good (my current header) to you. I mean like, if you see flaws and stuff. Cut me some slack, it's my first one anyway. (:

Will blog more on yesterday maybe tomorrow. I know I know, I promised to write about that today but.. I'm gearing up for..

MAROON 5!

So yeah, I've two things to blog about tomorrow.

Kinoc, out.

The Last Fight

Doodle #71

Brittle,
The soul of a lifeless vessel crumbles,
Streaks of agony prod against its vestige,
A silent and solemn plead to be released,
Bound to the curse cast upon thyself,
Resolve for deliverance is but a reverie.

A vessel,
Plundered of all sentiment,
A marionette finally unchained,
Yet incapacitated,
He moves without thought,
Driven not by sensation but instinct,
A primal instinct still embedded within him,
The feeling of fear.

Fear not for the clash,
But for the aftermath,
Fear not for the beauty,
But for the fiend adherent.

A symbol of pure malevolence,
Imbued with an overwhelming sense of vehemence,
One could not hope to stand up against such odds,
Despite the spite,
It was still a spectacle to behold,
A remembrance to the power of deceit,
Laced by detestation of the abomination.

A subtle but frenzied bid to abscond,
He was an adept at that,
It had been his calling from the very beginning,
Yet beneath it all,
He cracked a grin as he made himself scarce,
A mark of absolution.

Once again, I apologize for the grim and depressive tone of my work. I think I really do get the most inspiration driving. I didn't want to waste any of my thoughts, they only come every so often anyways.

Cheers.

I'll try to blog about today later on, perhaps tomorrow. SNOWFLAKES WHAI YOU NO POWER TODAY?

Kinoc, out.

Happy Birthday!

There shall be no doodling today. For it is a special day. *grins*

Happy Birthday to two of the most awesome people in my life,

Doodle #69

Somewhere, sometime, within all the thoughts.

My mind fluttered back.

To the very first time.

Back to the ballroom.

The days pass by agonizingly slow during the holidays. I realize now that I just stumbled across a gigantic loophole that threatens to utterly jeopardize otherwise pitch perfect planning.

A loophole that comes right down to communication.

How could I have missed such an intricate detail? With so little time to spare to rectify my errors too. All I can do now is hope that my contact will sign in and check for the mail. D:

Doodle #68 : Pharmily's Day Out

Monday, 2011 Apr 25.

Had somewhat of a half-class gathering today at Sunway Pyramid. Or rather, we split into 2 groups.

Those who wanted to sing k.

Those who wanted to ice skate.

I found myself placed in the latter, along with Joshua, Adeline, Jhii Lien and Chern. Dave who was supposed to come along, abandoned us for his cooler movie going friends. Yes, such a fickle minded woman, don't you think? (Yes, I'm criticizing you because you said I always do)

For the first half of this post, I'll only be focusing on my group. I've no idea what went on for our counterparts.

Anyways, rendezvous time was set to 12.40pm but we were only fully assembled at 1.30pm.

It felt thrilling to set foot into the ice skating rink again. It's been over a year since I last skated and to date, I've only skated twice. Taking this time into account, I'd have done it thrice. Excitement was running pretty high among us. Best of all, the ice rink wouldn't be as packed as it would be on a weekend, ensuring more than enough room for maneuverability. Although I doubt that we would be needing much space to fumble around. Everyone, apart from Jhii Lien, was a complete greenhorn at skating.

So we discarded our comfy shoes for something a lil more tight fitting. Skating shoes. Primed with shiny blades complete with pointy steel tips.

Dangerous indeed.

Ready to skate!

JOSHIEEE! Skating pro.

Everybody abandoned me, so I had to skate alone. :( Credits to YokeYee for this shot. I look dumb though. D:

Heh. (:

So I managed to stay upright throughout my entire skating session. Towards the end of the day, I finally managed to get a hang of the technique to.. propell? myself forward. I'm not really sure about the exact way of doing it but I think you use the steel tip to dig into the ice to gain anchorage where you push yourself forward?

Or something along those lines.

I'm just glad I didn't fall today. Though I came close on at least 2 occasions. Then, the ice had thawed somewhat and the rink was wet, and really slippery.

Amidst the breaks for the workers to reice the surface, we had several TruthOrDare sessions. Pharmily bonding! *inserts heart shape*

So we saw the Sing K group pop up sometime around 5. Zhi Shan, Jason, Mei Yi, Esther, Lynn, Voon and Ivan.

So we made ourselves scarce and joined them as we decided where to fill our stomachs for dinner.

Several minutes of nonexistent discussion later, we found ourselves outside of of the most innocuous restaurants ever. Truth is I never really noticed the place until a friend of mine pointed it out to me last year. Several times. For her birthday and a number of other occasions. And Miss Yip, I hope you read this, I'm eating there without you promoting the place. HAH

Hartz Chicken Buffet.

Yes, LOL indeed.

Somehow, 2 hours passed by as we munched our dinner down while we "keng gai" and "keng sam si" ROFL.

Did a lil shopping then with Jhii's help. Hope it goes well later on. ;D

Then, to relive our more youthful times.

ARCADEEE!!

Pewpewpew Time Crisis ftw!

That's the gist of it.

Kinoc, out.

Doodle #67 : Mun's Pink Night

A few weeks back, Elaine approached me with a very interesting proposition. Surprise Mun. So hence, we planned a surprise (and rather small) gathering for her.

A few weeks of planning later...

Met up with Joshua and Marcus beforehand and made our way to Pyramid.

Collected our Chocolate Moist cake, specially for SM from Secret Recipe. It's good to have an inside agent to know what she craved. Thanks Elaine for the info!

After some last minute alterations, we found ourselves seated at the back corner of TGIF, Sunway Pyramid. For some reason, it was a popular place for birthdays. Or maybe just the birthdays I celebrate.

So we sat around at the deepest corner, awaiting the arrival of the princess, escorted by her best friend. Once the signal was given, we made our way to the front.

It almost failed. We couldn't spot them, till very much later. HAHAHAH

So Marcus went in first.

"Eyh?? Marcus?" *confused*

Then Joshua made his appearance.

"EYH? Joshuaaaa?" *dazed*

Then I popped in from behind her.

"EYHHHHHHH GORRRRRR!!!" *everything clicked into place*

The look on her face? Priceless.

Once all was settled, we were ushered in to a more comfortable location. Back to the place Marc, Joshua and I were hiding out while we awaited Mun and Elaine to arrive.

It was a corner of TGIF I never knew existed. Best of all, we were one of the very few groups of people there. At some point, we hogged the entire session for our photo sessions.

Grin.

Mun, all smiles. (:

Joshuaaaaaaa. In pink!

Marcus, making his order. Also in pink.

By the way, the dress code was pink. I think us 3 guys had the oddest stares while we were walking through pyramid, dressed in pink.

Heh.

Best friend and co-planner, Elaine.

Watching Marc and Joshua's awesome action video.

Domokun! Don't they look so alike? (:

SM posing with our awesome personal waiter / photographer for the night.

Joshua wants his turn to pose too!

Gift awarding ceremony?

In line with all TGIF birthday celebrations, the birthday girl was asked to do a lil performance for the rest of us. (:

Videos and more pictures can be found on Facebook.

Pink Night? Success! (:

Yes, Mun, you're welcomed. After all, that's what being a gor is for. (:
